Heavy Combination (HC)
A heavy combination, or class HC licence covers heavy combination vehicles like a prime mover towing a semi-trailer, or rigid vehicles towing a trailer with a GVM of more than 9 tonnes.
Also includes vehicles in class HR.
Minimum requirements:
- Applicants must be the holder of a current NSW MR or HR truck licence and have held that licence for a minimum of one year.
- Applicants must complete the Roads and Maritime Services HC Knowledge Test and obtain a Competency Based Assessment Learners Logbook and Guidebook from the RMS.
- Study the CBA guidebook before starting the course.
- All students must pass a language, literacy & numeracy assessment (LLN)

For all classes of licence training undertaken with All Onsite Training & Assessment, you will be required to follow the steps, outlined below, to obtain your heavy vehicle licences:
- Study for the class of licence you wish to obtain.
- Pass the knowledge test at the RMS.
- For your LR, MR, HR and HC licence you should obtain the competency based assessment books from the RMS.
- Contact us here at All Onsite Training and Assessment to make a booking.
- Once you have been deemed competent, return to the RMS to have your photo licence processed.

- Upgrade from HR – $1900
- HC auto/synchromesh course is $2100.00.
- Road Ranger Constant Mesh – $2100
- HC road ranger course is $2300.00.
